Breaking News--Daytime Emmy Awards Announced

Well the Daytime Emmy nominations were announced today and we are outraged, OUTRAGED I TELL YOU!! Don't get me wrong, we are thrilled at those who got nominated but feel that a lot of great performances were overlooked. AND the fact that General Hospital itself was not nominated for Outstanding Drama Series is ridiculous! Also with the Young and the Restless toping the number of nominations it makes me a little jealous because they stole Steve Burton (Jason) and Tristan Rogers (Robert).


I can't believe that General Hospital wasn't nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Ok--yeah we had the Relish Renaissance... and there was that whole part where the paintings done by Heather for Franco's show were all inspired Kelly's sandwiches (anyone else notice that the Egg Salad one is still hanging up at the Quartermain house?), and all the BLT love.... ok I can kinda see how it's more comedy than a drama, but still. One Life to Live was nominated?!?!?  OUTRAGE!!!

And no love for Roger Howarth? Come on! The scene where he was loosing his mind on the bridge when he thought he was Jason and Carly found him. So GOOD! And how great he was when Carly was kidnapped? Come on!

Then we move on to the other outrage that I just don't understand. Why isn't Brooklyn Rae Silzer, the adorable Emma Drake, nominated? Can you all agree with me that she is the best little actress on General Hospital? I just love her and every scene she's in is better. Even this week with her being in the back of the car when they were in an accident. UGH so good!

Other people/characters I'm sad aren't nominated: Laura Wright (Carly), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), William deVry (Julian), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), of course Maurice Bernard (Sonny), and Teresa Castillo (Sabrina).

He. Gets. All. The. Awards. We love him!

Now on to the good news! I'm so glad they recognized Chad Duell and Kristen Alderson (Michael and Kiki). So well deserved and I hope they win their categories. They are wonderful and I love them. Also, as we have been saying over and over JASON THOMPSON GETS ALL THE EMMYS! Yay Dr. Patrick Drake has been nominated and we hope he gets it all. From falling in love with Sabrina, to having Robin come back and then having to choose between Robin and Sabrina only to have Robin leave him AGAIN! Then his meltdown and yelling at poor Emma. He is amazing and I want him to get it. If he doesn't, I will be sad. Another one I'm so happy for is Dominic Zamprogna (Dante). He was so great this year and deserves that win. And a big congratulations to Bradford Anderson (Spinelli)--so good! Please come back soon with baby Georgie!

Some shockers to us were Jane Elliot (Tracy)--must have bought some votes like she did for control of ELQ--JUST KIDDING! She was great. Really sold her love of relish. That takes guts and talent. Kelly Sullivan (Connie) was also a surprise, but I got to say she sold that death scene. And Bryan Craig (Morgan)--but I guess it takes a lot to sell it when you're doing love scenes with an older woman.

Congrats to all our GH nominees. We'll be cheering for you. Tatiana and I will be doing a live Tweeting the night of the Emmys together... stay tuned. Daytime Emmys are on June 22nd.
