I think it's time we had an intervention with the writers RE: Sam/Silas/Patrick... #GH recap 7/21

Guys... I think before we discuss today's episode we need to take a little time out and discuss something very important. Well... as important as things can get when you are reading a blog about a soap. Anyhow, it is plain to see that the writers have begun to rapidly disolve the the relationship between Sam and Silas (more summary on that below) and per +Angela Rynan there are people out there that support this complete 180 in story telling because they are mad at Michael Easton's character(s) breaking up Sam/Jason.... WHAT?? Apparently the reasoning is that Sam/Jas were the "orig" couple etc etc. Let me just say ... STOP THAT. It's silly to hate on a budding soap relationship because the character was with someone else before, especially when that person IS DEAD(ish). What drives soap stories is the chemistry between characters! Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco ooze chemistry. Hell even their characters (up until 2 weeks ago) couldn't get enough of each other. Not to mention if we're really going to get into hating people for breaking up the OG relatioships you should really all hate Sam, because  Jason was first with Robin. For that matter you should hate Patrick for breaking up Jason/Robin. We could go WAAAY back and say that Carly is also the worst because she broke up Jason and Robin. Or perhaps you don't like #Julexis because Julian is breaking up the idea of Ned/Alexis? Do you see where I am going here? Hopefully the writers do and stop this nonsense of derailing #SIAM like a speeding train. Especially since they spent so much time building them up! But you know who really loses here? DANNY. That boy can never win... just lost Rafe, now on the verge of losing his sort of dad... RUDE! Ok rant over, Now on to talking that other thorn in my side... Ron Carlavati

I used to think I trusted +Ron Carlavati , defended when story lines got a little wacky (#RELISH) but believed he had our best interests at heart. But these last few weeks? NOT SO MUCH. Perhaps I need to spend a day behind the scenes at +General Hospital to understand how all this works. Because I do not understand how almost a year of lead up the writers seem to be working so fast and so furious to break down any backbone in the #Siam relationship. What's even more odd is it didn't really start when Nina arrived, because Sam was still strong and backing Silas then. No, this weird turn started around 4th of July when all of a sudden we were getting hints at a Samtrick angle? Talk about of out left field... The saga continued today as Sam did a whole bunch of consoling with Patrick, prepping him for his press conference. Meanwhile Silas was off on his own, grieving and stewing I'm sure. Sure once he arrived Sam was by his side, but only halfheartedly as she seems to still be in Patrick's corner. Of course, seeing the relationship on thin ice Crazy Eyes jumps in and tries to make her play, wanting to "take Silas home" so she can "take care of him". Silas is awesome and rebuffs her at first, but I think we can sense that is all about to go up in flames with Nina's last move of the day. She has told one of the reporters about Patrick's little confession that he thought about killing Rafe.... so you know, that's going to end well. I really hope that whichever writer who wrote Sam as a strong independent character comes back from the vacation they're obviously on and fixes this fiasco... Not to mention, they can't be putting Patrick and Sam together for long, Robin is supposed to come back at the end of the summer right? For once I'll be cheering for Robin to be with Patrick I suppose... mainly to return me to the #Siam I know and love. 

Levi looks more annoyed than I do, does he possibly annoy himself?

I might express the same level of frustration with the Maxie character right now, but the romantic type music and flashbacks to the 4th insure me that the writers know where they're going on this storyline. The end game is #Naxie.... it's apparently just going to take a million years to get there. In the mean time West continues to bond with Dante over his lady problems. Dante continues to be the coolest guy in town and supports his partner (and growing friend) by helping Nate dive into the investigation of "who called ICE(INS)". After digging up the bare minimum of evidence (when Levi would have had access to the phone), Dante gives West the rest of the day off. Presumably to find a place to live and decompress, but instead West heads to the bar like a man with priorities. Continuing on the bonding path West continues to forge his bond with Mac, who totally has Nathan's back. Meanwhile the world's only horrible Australian is busy manipulating Maxie into the next phase of his plan. You see, Maxie has an original thought - her and Levi will move to AU- but Levi can't have any of that. He spills that he is wanted in AU, and smart Maxie makes a brief resurgence as she questions why he has been lying to her this whole time. But of course Levi is great at the brainwashing and convinces Maxie that it was for peaceful crimes and that they need an alternate plan... which is apparently to get married. I really hope the writers are about to blow me away with a twist in this story. I mean if marrying Maxie was the end game the whole time there has got to be an ulterior motive right? Perhaps he works for Fluke? Maybe Jasper Jax? I mean randos from AU don't just want to marry randos from PC right? Hmmmm..... YOUR MOVE WRITERS.

We also saw the return of Lucy today, who returns under the guise of morning over Rafe. I was very close to getting behind this return, I have a soft spot for Lucy because of the time I spent watching Port Charles, and she was very close to Allison back in the day; but alas the "mourning" lasted all of one scene before she started whining about Scott etc. Sorry Lucy, I'm with Mac on this one. You dug your own hole picking that sleeze bag Scott over Doc and you deserve whatever current misery you are in. You know what we don't deserve? To have our time wasted with this storyline instead of getting some SOLID #julexis time... but hey at least Bobbi is back ruining things and sleeping with Scott like the old days! (Which reminds me, based on the theory of hating Silas because Jason/Sam, none of you should cheer for Bobbi ever #homewreker)

Spence got totally CHOCOLATE WASTED

Fortunately there was at least one  non dramatic storyline today courtesy of Prince Schemer, the ruler of all that is adorable. Britt and Spence's plan is underway as Spence takes a page out of Macauly's book and rents a hotel room on his own, saying his dad is on his way. While he is living it up like any 8 year old on their own (candy binge, video games, sugar hangover) Britt is floundering in the park. Every time she tries to get close to Nikolas Liz gets in the way, not to mention Britt gets in her own way. Word to the wise, don't let an 8 year old do your battle planning for you, not even Spence. Everything is about to quickly unravel as Nik uses technology to track Spence to the MC before any real reconciling can happen. I have warmed up to Britt over the past year, and I want her and Nik to be together. But Brit, it's not meant to be if you have to force it at every turn. Let it happen organically! (remember based on the original couple theory none of you should be cheering for Liz/Nik because she is Lucky's lady, and he is Elizabeth's {hahaha nonsense})

Maxie asks Nate why he cares if she marries Levi (well he loves you DUH), Levi asks for Mac and Felicia's blessing (no chance in hell he is getting Mac's) , Spence is on the run again, Scotty returns (blah), but so does Julian!
